Bio
David J. Moriarty is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with more than 30 years of experience writing, recording, and performing music. A Long Island, New York native, David also spent more than 17 years living and working in California.
While residing in Venice, California, David formed the hard rock trio Earth at Night, wrote and composed music for several short films and a documentary, and had songs featured in three feature films by independent filmmakers. During this time, he also worked in film and visual effects at the groundbreaking Rhythm & Hues Studios.
Throughout his career, David has co-written, co-produced, and recorded numerous albums, both independently and in collaboration with a variety of artists. He has performed extensively across both coasts, sharing the stage with acclaimed acts including Dave Matthews Band, Sugar Ray, Derek Trucks, SR71, and the late David Crosby.
David’s music has been featured in television programs including The Real World: NOLA, Road Rules, The Challenge, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians on MTV, as well as multiple episodes of Married to Rock on VH1.
In addition to his solo work, David co-writes and performs comedy music with actor, comedian, and musician Ben Kacsandi. Together, they are known as Ben and Dave’s Mixtape.
David’s passion for music is at the heart of everything he does. His songwriting explores universal themes of love, heartbreak, life, loss, happiness, and the everyday moments that matter most. Known for his ability to craft memorable hooks and melodies, David is also highly skilled in vocal performance and harmonies and has a natural talent for helping fellow artists develop their musical ideas into finished songs.

In 2026, David is back in the studio working on a new solo album with multi-platinum producer Phil Jimenez, known for his work with Wheatus, NY Lights, and Beat Radio. He is also developing new material with Ben and Dave’s Mixtape and composing music for two upcoming short films.
With decades of experience and an ongoing passion for creating, performing, and collaborating, David continues to evolve as an artist while staying true to what has always driven him: the music.
